It's been ten whole years since Acura stopped making the NSX. It was a car many loved - taking the appeal of Porsches and Ferraris and adding everyday driveability at a price point people could realistically afford. And it's been ten years that fans have been waiting for Acura to refocus its attention towards sports cars and to revitalize the NSX. Well rest easy, because that day is approaching.

At the 2012 Detroit Auto Show, Acura revealed a jaw-dropping concept model toting the NSX name and promised that it would reach production. Even more importantly, that production would happen here in the United States, at its Performance Manufacturing facility in Marysville, Ohio. At the 2015 North American International Auto Show, Acura revealed the production version of the mid-engine hybrid vehicle that will take people by storm.

Compared to the model of yesteryears, the new NSX is quite a bit bigger. Updated aerodynamic design puts the new NSX at 5 inches wider and even the wheelbase is clocking in at an 11 inch increase. The frame will feature aluminum, steel, and carbon fiber amongst other materials that will give it an estimated curb weight of 3600 pounds according to Car & Driver.

The front grille features a chunky but streamlined designed flanked by LED headlamps and DRLs. The thin lines of the lights are mirrored in the rear with taillights that stretch the length of the car. Inside the wheel wells sit wheels measuring at 19 by 8.5 inches in front and 20 by 11 inches in back surrounded by Continental performance tires.

Under the hood sits a 75-degree, dry-sump V-6 twin-turbocharged engine, paired with three electric motors, one between the engine and the 9-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and one at each front wheel, ranking the output at over 550 horsepower. The car features the Integrated Dynamic System that gives the car four preset settings: Quiet, Sport, Sport+, and Track.

The interior is certainly nothing short of spectacular. The leather trim with contrast stitching adorns the interior. A TFT instrument cluster sits behind a beautifully sculpted steering wheel, in a well designed form that makes the car feel like it's racing down roadways even when it's completely still. At the center console sits the easy to use control panel. All of the panels adjust to the driver's selected preset setting.

If you're interested you can add your name to the preorder list and cough up a paltry $150,000 (est) for it's release.
